Video: Dropping Melamine Platters

This is our first foray into testing and videotaping our tabletop supplies. Common knowledge is that melamine platters are a stronger, more durable material then porcelain platters but what does that mean in terms of a drop test? We thought we’d give it a try so you can see for yourselves. We tested two products: our M1125 2.6” Melamine Ramekin and our M1904 14.5” melamine square platter by dropping them on our concrete warehouse floor. Check out the results in the videos below:

14.5" Melamine Square Platter

How far apart should rows of White Resin Folding Chairs Be?

We always like questions on how to use our products. They’re a great way to find out more about how our products should be used in their intended. Last week we shared the answer to the reader question “how far apart should rows of chiavari chairs be?” We also had a reader ask “how far apart should rows of white resin folding chairs be?” and I thought it worth writing about to share the answer. From a guest’s point of view, having chair rows too close together can be uncomfortable. If chairs are spaced too far apart, guests won’t be able to adequately interact with one another and the room feels like there is wasted space.

The rule of thumb for rows of white resin folding chairs: 36 inches from chair back to chair back.

Our White Resin Folding Chairs are 18 inches deep. We need to leave an additional 18 inches between the back of the chair row in front to the white resin folding chair front of the row behind.

How Far Apart Should Rows of Chairs Be

The rule of thumb for how far apart each white resin folding chair should be in a row: each white resin folding chair in a row should be spaced 2 inches apart so guests don’t feel crowded or uncomfortable.

What Size are Most Banquet Hall Round Tables?

Round Banquet Tables

Maybe you work at a party rental company or at a banquet hall or maybe you’re thinking of starting a new business venture working in this industry. Whatever the case may be, knowing the correct size of most banquet hall round tables will help you to either stock the right size tables for event venues to rent from you or ensure your event venue can properly utilize your space to get the maximum amount of people in the venue for the maximum amount of revenue.

The three common sizes used for most banquet hall round tables include:

  • 60 inch (5ft) round banquet tables
  • 66 inch (5.5ft) round banquet tables
  • 72 inch (6ft) round banquet tables

5ft round banquet tables fit between 6 to 8 people. 5.5ft round banquet tables fit between 6 to 8 people and 6ft round banquet tables fit between 8 to 10 people.

I should note that we’re starting to see a lot more inquiries for 7ft round banquet tables and 8ft round banquet tables. While these two sizes aren’t sizes we normally stock, we’re able to custom order these sizes for you should you require them. 7ft round banquet tables will still be one single tabletop while the 8ft round banquet tables will come in two pieces due to how large this size table is. Production and delivery is approximately 3 months.

New Product: Melamine Rectangle Bowl

Melamine serving bowls are a fantastic way for a banquet hall, or caterer to provide larger volume buffets with serveware that looks like porcelain but provides added durability without substantial weight. We’ve had great success with our melamine serving pieces throughout the party rental, banquet hall and catering categories – partially in part of the way our melamine looks. We try our best to choose melamine pieces that look almost identical to porcelain – so much so that we put our melamine pieces on a prominent front table at our tradeshow booths with a sign “touch me”. Visitors are often incredulous because they think upon first glance that what they’re about to touch is porcelain platters. So naturally we want to continue to expand our melamine serving piece line. We just received a new shipment in to ensure we have enough stock and brought in another new melamine rectangle bowl.

Introducing our new Melamine Rectangle Bowl!

M1350 Melamine Rectangular Bowl

This 9 7/8” x 13 ¾” Rectangle Melamine Bowl is perfect for salads, pasta entrees and so much more. It has a volume of 4.5L / 152oz, can be refrigerated between a range of 2°C – 93°C (35.6°F - 200°F), and is dishwasher safe.

From our Mailbag: How far apart should rows of chiavari chairs be?

We always like questions on how to use our products. They’re a great way to find out more about how our products are used in their intended environments and provides our readers with answers to common and not so common questions. We had a reader ask “how far apart should rows of chiavari chairs be?” I thought this was a great question to ask as it can go a long way to contributing to the ambiance of an event. From a guest’s point of view, having chair rows too close together can be uncomfortable. While a guest may not consciously realize a row is too close together, it can cause subconscious tension which can contribute to a negative opinion of the event itself. Not only that but if a room is smaller, chair rows set too closely together can make it feel crowded. If chairs are spaced too far apart, guests won’t be able to adequately interact with one another and the room feels like there is wasted space.

The rule of thumb for rows of chiavari chairs: 34 inches from chair back to chair back.

Our Wood Chiavari chairs are 15 ¾ inches deep while our Resin Chiavari Chairs are 15 7/8 inches deep. For this demonstration we will round up to 16 inches, leaving an additional 18 inches between the back of the chair row in front to the chiavari chair front of the row behind.

How Far Apart Should Chiavari Chairs Be?

The rule of thumb for how far apart each chiavari chair should be in a row: each chiavari chair in a row should be spaced 2 inches apart so guests don’t feel crowded or uncomfortable.
