Harvest tables have been gaining steam throughout the past year and into 2016. Weddings are popping up all over the place with industrial rustic, romantic rustic, rustic elegant, rustic vintage, and so on. Basically any wedding theme you can think of went on a date with the rustic theme for the past year’s weddings. At the centre of those weddings was almost always the solid wood harvest table.

Let’s all take a minute to drool over this table. It is gorgeous in all its solid woody, walnutty goodness. It is a perfect table for serving family-style dinners or having lots of room for centerpiece action. Generally holds 8 people comfortably and doesn’t require linens (another bonus). Naturally rental companies and event venues are getting asked a lot whether they have harvest tables in inventory. Why the huge range?

The range is a combination of things – we’ve heard a lot of rental companies couldn’t find harvest tables and built their own – which actually costed towards the higher end of the range when all was said and done. Spandex tablecloths are a dream for event planners, party rental companies and banquet halls looking for a wrinkle-resistant, contemporary sleek silhouette. But with plenty of use comes plenty of spills and companies in the event industry need to keep a clean inventory to impress their potential customers. If some companies are looking to invest in spandex tablecloths, here’s what to expect for the washing and maintenance of the material – so you can keep your investment looking sharp!

The good news is – spandex is machine washable. To wash:

1. Examine the spandex for any evidence of visible stains or strong odors.

2. If strong odors are present, you can pre-soak in a cold water solution of 1 part white vinegar to 1 part cold water. (For major stink, up the vinegar to 2 parts white vinegar, 1 part water) Un-diluted Vinegar is also a good stain remover for sauces and red wine. For coffee or tea stains, pre-treat with liquid laundry detergent for half an hour.

No ironing should be needed – but if wrinkles do occur, iron on the lowest heat setting.
