Different types of skirting clips

 17ft Polyester Table Skirt

Skirting clips are a necessary evil for event venues, hotels, golf clubs and party rental customers looking to cover their tables with table skirting. There are a few different kinds of skirting clips on the market today. Knowing which ones your table will need helps to avoid a mistake in ordering and ensure your table gets covered as fast as possible. Check out the different kinds below:

Plastic Table Skirting Clips

Plastic table skirting clips work with plastic folding tables. Generally you will find plastic table skirting clips that fit tables anywhere from 3/8” all the way up to 3” thick tabletop. They snap on the table edge every foot and have Velcro on them to adhere table skirting to. National Event Supply stocks plastic table skirting clips that fit plastic tables between 2” – 2.75” thick.

Wood Table Skirting Clips with Velcro

Wood table skirting clips work with wood folding tables. Generally you will find wood table skirting clips that fit tables anywhere from ¾” to ½” thick tabletop. They snap on the table edge every foot and have Velcro on them to adhere table skirting to. National Event Supply stocks wood table skirting clips with Velcro that fit wood tables with a ¾” thickness.

Wood Table Skirting Clips without Velcro

Wood table skirting clips without Velcro also fit a wood folding table. You generally find wood table skirting clips without Velcro that fit tables anywhere from 3/4” to 1/2” thick tabletop. They are primarily used to secure tablecloths to the tabletop so that wind does not blow the tablecloth off. They snap on the table edge every foot. National Event Supply stocks wood table skirting clips without Velcro that fit wood tables with a ¾” thickness.

Where to Buy Industrial Metal Dining Chairs

Industrial Metal Dining Chairs

Industrial metal dining chairs have been another event chair taking the wedding and special event industry by storm. They’re frequently used in industrial themed events and even in rustic events to contrast the wood harvest tables. Industrial metal chairs are certainly readily available in retail stores as home décor and fashion trends tend to play a role in predicting special event trends – but where can you buy industrial metal chairs in bulk to satisfy the higher number of chairs required for a special event? Here are 3 suppliers to buy these event chairs from.

1. Event Equipment Sales

Based just outside of Chicago, IL, EES stocks what they call the Elio Chair in gunmetal, manufactured with lightweight steel and clear lacquer for rust protection. It stacks 8 high and is fitted with rubber glides to avoid scratches.

2. P.R.E. Sales Inc

Based in San Diego, CA, PRE Sales stocks their Engrom series gunmetal chair where vintage meets classic industrial design. Featuring a cross brace under the seat provides extra stability, their chairs also have drain holes in the seat and a 3 year limited warranty.

3. Global Event Supply

Based in Fontana, CA, Global Event Supply stocks their Tolix Chair in Antique Bronze. It features a lightweight design of only 11lbs and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

We also stock event chairs similar to the Tolix Marais A Chair at our Greater Toronto Area location. Its classic, simple design is equally at home with rustic, industrial, modern and elegant event and restaurant themes.

New Spun Polyester Colour in Stock

Black Spun Polyester Tablecloth

Last year we introduced square spun polyester tablecloths to our inventory. Spun polyester has a higher thread count then our regular polyester tablecloths – making it thicker and more luxurious. The square spun polyester tablecloths are often used as table overlays so that banquet halls and event venues can use regular (less expensive) polyester linens on the tables with square overlays that are more expensive overtop. Then in the middle of May we announced our new sizes of spun polyester in rounds and rectangles. I’m pleased to announce that we have added black spun polyester to the following sizes and that they are now in stock and available in our Mississauga warehouse:

60” x 102” rectangle spun polyester tablecloth – in white & black (new) – fits a 6ft table with a half drop

60” x 126” rectangle spun polyester tablecloth – in white & black (new) – fits an 8ft table with a half drop

90” round spun polyester tablecloth – in white & black (new) – fits a 30” low cruiser table with a full drop

How to Cover a Serpentine Table

Sepentine Table Linen

Serpentine tables are a great addition to a wedding or corporate event. They are fantastic to use for buffets in particular as they provide nice aesthetic appeal while allowing buffet lines to move faster with both sides being used. Ensuring that you can find tablecloths for serpentine tables is an entirely different story though.

The easiest way to cover a serpentine table (and perhaps the most readily available way) is using table skirting and a top cover tablecloth.

How to figure out the size tablecloth and skirting needed for a serpentine table:

In order to calculate the size tableskirting required you need to figure out the inner diameter of the serpentine, the outer diameter of the serpentine and the width. I’m going to be using the 2 different kinds of serpentine tables we sell as our example models.

Our wood serpentine table has an inner diameter of 60”, an outer diameter of 120” and a width of 30” so our formula would be: 60 inches + 120 inches + 30 inches (for right side of the table) + 30 inches (for left side of the table) = 240 inches of table to skirt. Since most table skirting is sold in feet, we would take 240 inches / 12 inches per foot = 20 feet. Therefore our 21 ft table skirt would work well at covering all sides from table height to floor of our wood serpentine table.

Since we need to also ensure our top of the serpentine is properly covered. We again would go to our serpentine dimensions. Since the serpentine table is 30 inches wide and the longest length is 120 inches in diameter we would need a table cloth to cover the serpentine table 30” x 120”. In the case of the polyester tablecloths that we sell that would work for the serpentine table top cover – a 60” x 126” table cloth would cover the table fully.

Our plastic serpentine table has an inner diameter of 55”, an outer diameter of 102” and a width of 30” so our formula would be: 55 inches + 102 inches + 30 inches (for right side of the table) + 30 inches (for left side of the table) = 217 inches of table to skirt. Since most table skirting is sold in feet, we would take 217 inches / 12 inches per foot = 18.1 feet. Our 17ft table skirt would be just a touch too small so we would opt for our 21 ft table skirt to cover all sides from table height to floor of our plastic serpentine table.

Since we need to also ensure our top of the serpentine is properly covered. We again would go to our serpentine dimensions. Since the serpentine table is 30 inches wide and the longest length is 102 inches in diameter we would need a table cloth to cover the serpentine table 30” x 102”. In the case of the polyester tablecloths that we sell that would work for the serpentine table top cover – a 60” x 126” table cloth would cover the table fully. We do have a 60” x 102” tablecloth but that wouldn’t provide enough coverage to ensure the tabletop isn’t showing.

Other ways that serpentine tables can be covered is utilizing spandex table covers and fitted serpentine table cloths in polyester. These will be generally more expensive as they are specialty shapes.
