The Best Crystal Wine Glasses to Use with Red Wine & White Wine

There are tons of different types of crystal wine glasses out there. Some are stemless, some are stemmed. Some have rounded bowls and others have the classic tulip shaped bowl. But with the number of crystal wine glasses out there, it can be overwhelming to choose which crystal wine glass goes with which wine – unless the product has it in its title. We’ve decided to put together an easy reference post utilizing our own crystal wine glasses to help you easily determine the best wine to serve with each glass.

In our Serenity Crystal Wine Glasses Line:

Crystal Wine Glasses

Serenity 12oz Crystal Wine Glass

Best for white wine, it is the smallest wine glass available in our crystal stemware collection. A white wine glass should have a prominent U-shaped appearance to maintain the cooler temperatures. If you’re looking for a red wine glass that would pair nicely next to the 12oz Crystal Wine Glass, I would recommend the 16oz wine glass as it has the best scale in relation to the size of glass.

Serenity 16oz Crystal Wine Glass

This glass is a versatile glass in that it can be a red wine glass when paired with a 12oz glass for white wine or can be a white wine glass when paired with either the 19oz red wine glass or 22oz red wine glass. Because of its size the 16oz crystal wine glass would pair nicely with any of the other wine glasses in our Serenity line. Its scale works well with any of the glasses.

Serenity 19oz Crystal Wine Glass

This glass is best as a red wine glass due to the size of the bowl. It has a fuller, rounder bowl which allows the red wine to properly breathe. The complex aromas and flavour bouquet that exists in red wine requires a glass with a larger bowl to ensure the red wine contacts more air during the pour or swirl.

Serenity 22oz Crystal Wine Glass

This glass is again best as a red wine glass due to the size of the bowl which allows the wine to breathe.

In the Victoria Crystal Wine Glasses Line

Victoria 23oz Crystal Wine Glass

If used along with the Victoria 28oz wine glass, the 23oz makes sense to use as a white wine glass but works best with red wine in all honesty. If used entirely by itself I would recommend it as a red wine glass as it has that great bulb shaped bowl synonymous with luxury. It has the slight inward curve at the top of the glass to focus aromas and still a decent amount of room to swirl the wine.

Victoria 28oz Crystal Wine Glass

This wine glass is the ultimate shaped bowl for red wine. Bulbous and round, it allows substantial breathing for the wine. It has the slight inward curve at the top of the glass to focus the aromas and provides substantial room for swirling and swishing of the wine.

Hopefully this blog post gives you a useful reference point to look for when choosing the best crystal wine glasses for your event or establishment.

How to Replace Folding Chair Feet with Replacement Chair Glides

Replacing missing or broken folding chair feet is relatively standard for most special event rental businesses. With thousands of plastic folding chairs in their inventory, they are bound to have a few chairs that need new feet. Chair glides are often lost due to the plastic folding chairs being set up on soft ground. The chair sinks slightly with the weight someone sitting on it and when it is pulled up to be put away, one of the feet gets left behind in the ground. Other party rental companies may also decide to replace them after years of wear and tear.

Whatever your reason, here are two easy steps to replacing your missing or broken folding chair feet with replacement chair glides.

Tools and Supplies:

  • Adjustable Pliers
  • Rubber Mallet
  • Colour Correct Chair Feet
  • (Optional) Cloth Rag

Step 1:

Properly fitting chair feet should be snug making them difficult to remove. To assist you in the removal process we recommend using adjustable pliers to assist you with the job. If you plan on reusing the feet, wrap them in a cloth rag to help prevent damage in the removal process. (If chair feet are already missing move to step 2).

Step 2:

Hold the chair foot in position and carefully tap onto chair using a rubber mallet. (Watch out for your fingers!)

Put Feet Back On

End result:

How to Store Chiavari Chairs

Chiavari Chairs are beautiful additions to any event that needs an elegant boost to the décor. Rental companies, banquet halls, golf courses and hotels have been buying these chairs for years. One of the hardest part about investing in chiavari chairs is the size of storage space that they take up. Often companies will have to move to a bigger facility to begin inventorying these gorgeous event chairs. To help you figure out what way you wish to store these chairs, we’re compiled the three different ways (we know of) to store Chiavari chairs.

Stacked on the Ground:

90% of the companies we sell to use this method for storing Chiavari Chairs. Chiavari chairs are stacked on top of each other to a total of 6-9 chairs (depending on the height of the storage room / warehouse and how far you can reach to stack them) and then another stack started to create rows of Chiavari Chairs. To transport onto trucks, they would use a Chiavari chair dolly. Chiavari Chairs Stacked

Stacked & Wrapped on Skids:

The other way that we’ve seen chiavari chairs stored, and how we ship our chairs, is by stacking 6 stacks of six chairs per stack on a skid and then wrapping the skid to avoid any product shifting or falling. The benefits of this method is the skids can then be placed on warehouse racking using up more vertical space above the chairs. These skids could then be transported onto your delivery truck using a fork lift or pump truck.

In a Racking System:

Some more progressive party rental companies have been making their own racking systems to fit stacks of chiavari chairs onto racking and then use forklifts to transport the racking system directly to the trucks. We have only witnessed one company in particular who is investing in this – but it makes a lot of sense from an operations perspective.

Protecting Chiavari Chairs:

Another aspect of storing Chiavari chairs is ensuring that the chair’s paint doesn’t get harmed during storage. On the pictures above you can see we use Chiavari Chair Covers to protect our chairs for our customers. This could be a good option for party rental companies who want to reduce any dust getting on the chairs when they’re back in their warehouse.
