Generally made of a 180 gsm polyester fabric, polyester banquet chair covers offer a casual look to round or square backed banquet chairs. The most popular polyester banquet chair cover is for the tear drop backed banquet chair. The chair features a round back and looks great with a chair cover on it – to dress up the event.

Spandex Banquet Chair Covers

Spandex banquet chair covers are generally made of 190 gsm spandex fabric. They offer a more sleek, contemporary look for event chairs. The most popular spandex banquet chair covers is for the tear drop backed banquet chair. The chair has a round back and can easily be laundered. They’re a breeze to put on and need no ironing to attain that picture-perfect look.

Satin Banquet Chair Covers

Satin banquet chair covers are made of satin fabric. They often are available in a number of colours and give a flowing, elegant look to a banquet chair. They tend to have a shine to them and reflect light well.

Spandex Folding Chair Covers

Spandex folding chair covers are similar to the spandex banquet chair covers in that they are also made of 190 gsm spandex fabric. They tend to fit a standard Samsonite style plastic folding chair – however there are also others that fit the more industrial style metal folding chairs. The spandex folding chair covers are great for dressing up a standard folding chair.

Universal Chair Covers

Universal chair covers work with any chair as they can be tied at the back to make the fit a more slimming line. Because of its universal fit, it is a very easy to use chair cover. Simply place over the chair, tie and go.

Chiavari Chair Covers

Chiavari Chair Covers tend to be sheer in design to allow the elegance and luxury that chiavari chairs are synonymous with shine through. They’re often embroidered, ruffled, or feature a sash to add a bit of extra pizazz to the event without allowing the Chiavari Chair to be seen.

Wood cruiser tables also known as high boy tables and wood pedestal tables are a terrific way for banquet halls, golf courses, hotels and rental companies to offer standing table-height bar tables during cocktail receptions and networking events. They can be dressed up with polyester or spandex table covers and enhanced with a fun sash or ribbon to match any event theme. The downfall with these tables is they have a lot of parts: a tabletop, a pole and a base. For any company that deals with event equipment, this can mean disaster – as it isn’t easy to keep track of all the product pieces.

Because of this storage issue, I thought I’d round up the ways (I know about at least) to store wood cruiser tables to hopefully alleviate misplaced parts. Take a look at your options below:

Rolling Bins:

Party Rental Companies occasionally use rolling bins made of either plastic or wood to corral the cruiser table parts. Seen here above with folding cocktail tables – however the same principle applies.

Original Product Boxes:

Some suppliers sell cruiser table parts in boxes such as the above. The tabletops and bases can be boxed back up together and the poles can be boxed back up as well.

Cruiser Table Carts:

There are a number of suppliers on the market that have cruiser table carts that hold 10-12 cruiser table tops, as well as their corresponding poles and bases. They can be rolled from warehouse to truck to event.

Table Skirts used for events, buffets and registration tables are a great way to provide a clean look while allowing hidden storage for staff members. And while they are often fantastic at ensuring extra dishes and cutlery can be hidden for buffets, their ease of use is not always a walk in the park. Most hotels, banquet halls and golf courses that I know of tend to put their table skirts on and leave them on for prolonged periods of time. This is because if they’re ironing them in-house they are not the easiest linens to iron. They also have to be put on with table skirting clips which is another added expense – and not always easy to find. Because of this, I thought it makes sense to point out other options that can be used instead of table skirts. Check them out below:

Fitted Tablecloths

Available in Black or White in both 6ft x 30” and 8ft x 30”, fitted tablecloths are a great alternative to table skirts. Available in 180 gsm polyester, 8ft fitted tablecloths are idea for buffet or display tables and catering companies. They’re stain resistant and flame retardant with a hemmed edge and seamed design along the tabletop. They’re 100% machine washable and iron-able.

Polyester Tablecloths:

Available in 60” x 102”, 60” x 126”, 90” x 132” and 90” x 156”, polyester tablecloths can also be used to give storage space while presenting a streamlined tablecover. Available in 180 gsm polyester, they’re stain resistant and flame retardant with a hemmed edge. They’re 100% machine washable and iron-able. Polyester tablecloths can be pinned at the corners or “boxed” to look similar to a fitted tablecloth. When you need tablecloths for banquet weddings or in upscale dining establishments, there’s generally two different options that venues consider: polyester tablecloths or spun polyester tablecloths. They sound so similar yet are quite different in their weight and feel as well as how they’re often used. Spun polyester tablecloths are often used as an overlay while polyester tablecloths are often used as a base layer tablecloth – though they can also be used as a stand-alone tablecloth. Here is the difference between the two kinds of tablecloths:

Spun Polyester Tablecloths:

• Blend of the durability of polyester with the look and feel of cotton
• Thicker fabric
• Machine washable
• Fold over hem
• Has a better drape than polyester
• Perfect for upscale events or a more refined dining atmosphere
• Stain resistant
• 220 GSM fabric
• Available in white and black
• More expensive then 100% polyester tablecloths but their enhanced aesthetic and tactile qualities often justify the investment.

• Staple due to their affordability
• Thinner fabric
• Surged hem
• Known for their durability
• Easy to clean - simple machine wash
• Stain resistant
• 180 GSM fabric
• Available in white, ivory, black and in some sizes navy blue & gray
• Less expensive than 100% spun polyester tablecloths

Ultimately, the choice between polyester and spun polyester tablecloths hinges on your specific needs and preferences. If budget and ease of maintenance are your primary concerns, standard polyester tablecloths are a practical option. However, if you’re aiming for a more elegant presentation with the added benefit of durability, spun polyester is the way to go.
