National Event Supply has been selling our NES Reliable Resin Chiavari Chairs and NES Reliable Crystal Chiavari Chairs for over two years now. We've loved them since we first set eyes on the sample chairs from the factory, and our love has not ebbed as time has passed. From the simple elegance of the white Chiavari chairs to warmth of the Mahogany Chiavari chairs, there's a lot to love. It's not just us that loves these chairs; Visitors to our trade show booths in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Toronto, and Montreal have also taken a shine to them.

Recently we wrote a little about the history of the Chiavari Chair (quick summary; They're old and Italian), and did a comparison between wood Chiavari chairs and resin Chiavari chairs. In this video, the last of the three videos from the Canadian Rental Service show in Toronto, Dennis talks about our Chiavari Chairs, explains why they're so awesome, and shows off a stunt he's been doing at trade shows since we got the NES Reliable Crystal Chiavari Chair.

This is the last of our Canadian Rental Service trade show videos. It's always great news when we have a container backing into our dock. No matter how hard we try, we always manage to run out of stock on items that we thought we were well-stocked on. And Murphy's Law always ensures that the out of stock item is the product that all of our customers want and need.

NES Reliable Folding Bar Height Chairs are made out of the same materials as our NES Reliable Plastic Folding Chairs, and are the exact same colour as the black on black version of that particular line of chair. NES Reliable Folding Bar Height Chairs feature virgin plastic to give the seat and back an appropriate amount of malleability, while the frame itself is made of high tensile steel which is only available in chairs made at our factory. The seat on the NES Reliable Folding Bar Height Chair is incredibly comfortable, and very sturdy. In addition, the folding foot rest also helps make this one of the most comfortable folding bar height chairs around.

NES Reliable Bar Height Folding Chairs are the perfect complement to our bar height NES Reliable Round Plastic Folding Cocktail Tables. These 43" tall tables allow for groups to congregate around them during events, and if you have NES Reliable Bar Height Folding Chairs around the table, you'll have a comfortable seating area that people are bound to take advantage of. Placing cruiser tables with our NES Reliable Folding Bar Height Chairs on the periphery of an event gives people a place to sit with their drinks and make connections with other guests.

Many people who are looking to purchase Chiavari Chairs for their rental business, restaurant, or banquet hall want to examine the differences between the Resin Chiavari Chair and Wood Chiavari Chair. Since the quality of both the Resin Chiavari Chairs and Wood Chiavari Chairs can vary dramatically, for the purposes of this blog, we will assume you are considering a high quality version of each product. In that case, each of the products has positives and negatives including authenticity, durability, appearance, strength, and maintenance. This will allow you to more easily choose which option is right for your business.

When considering the authenticity of the product, the clear choice between the two products is the wood chiavari chairs. Wood Chiavari Chairs have been around for over 200 years and they are still an extremely popular choice. For many people, when you think Chiavari Chair, it simply needs to be a Wood Chiavari Chair.

When you consider durability, the tide generally turns in favour of the Resin Chiavari Chair. Resin Chiavari Chairs are better suited to daily use easily as Resin Chiavari Chairs are made with coloured resin. As a result if you do happen to chip the paint on the chair, you will see a base colour that is only a few shades different from the gloss automotive paint finishing. Compare this with a Wood Chiavari Chair which shows a natural wood colour when it chips and the advantages are clear. Additionally, some chairs like the white NES Resin Chiavari Chair are not painted at all, which means that any chips that do occur will not be noticeable without a close inspection.

A third factor to consider is appearance. Obviously no one wants to spend their hard earned money on a chair that does not look good. In this case it is likely personal preference, colour dependent, and chair manufacturer specific. In our case we have had numerous people mistake our Resin Chiavari Chairs for Wood Chiavari Chairs. If you are more discerning however you will notice that the gold Resin Chiavari Chair will have a gloss finish when compared to the Wood Chiavari Chair which will be more of a matte finish. Additionally, Wood Chiavari Chairs typically come in a wider range of colours which means it may not be possible for you to find a resin alternative.

When you consider the strength of the Chiavari Chair, think about bracing and use of stronger materials (metal, higher-quality resins). Many people find that Resin Chaivari Chairs are far stronger. As an example, our NES Resin Chiavari Chair has been subjected to a 300lb drop test from 6” above the seat which it passes without any issues. Our Crystal Chiavari Chair (made of Polycarbonate) passes a 225lb drop test without any issues. Our Resin Chiavari Chairs get their strengh from steel supports which run through the resin itself. To get the strongest Wood Chaivari Chair, you'll want to make sure it is factory assembled. Knock down chairs simply do not have the same strength.Finally, look for Wood Chiavari Chairs that feature 4 braces on the bottom of the chair, locking the seat to the chair frame. By getting the braces, and buying a factory-assembled chair, you'll reduce the wobble that often comes with Wood Chaivari Chairs as the screws become loose in the wood.

One final issue to consider is maintenance. Maintenance can become a major cost factor if the product needs constant attention. In the case of Chiavari Chairs, Resin Chiavari Chairs will hold up significantly better than Wood Chiavari Chairs. Wood Chiavari Chairs often need their screws tightened and their paint touched up after events, while Resin Chiavari Chair require very little after event maintenance.

In the case of Resin Chiavari Chairs versus Wood Chiavari Chairs there is really not a right or wrong choice. Either choice leaves you with a classic chair design that will be popular for years to come.

We've only had it in inventory for a little over a year, and sales have just started taking off. The Blow-Mold Stacking Chair is unbelievably comfortable over long periods, while being strong and durable. Unlike banquet chairs, where you can cut the fabric or vinyl, the Blow-Mold Stacking Chairs have no vinyl or upholstrey to cut, burn, or otherwise mutilate. Blow-Mold Stacking Chairs are made of the same strong and durable material as our NES Reliable Plastic Folding Tables, and have passed a 6 inch, 275 pound drop test and are capable of holding static weights in excess of 500 pounds.

We also received a shipment of our NES Reliable Blow-Mold Folding Chairs. The Blow-Mold Folding Chairs are, like the Blow-Mold Stacking Chairs, manufactured from the same heavy-duty plastic and steel as our NES Reliable Plastic Folding tables. This combination of high-quality plastic and heavy-duty steel tubing forms the basis for the strongest folding chair that we sell. Blow-Mold Folding Chairs are just as comfortable as their stacking sibling, and as strong as well. Blow-Mold Folding Chairs were exposed to the same 6 inch, 275 pound drop test as the Blow-Mold Stacking Chair, and passed with flying colours. We also carry a Blow-Mold Folding Chair Cart to help move up to 30 of these chairs from event to event.

We've been selling our NES Reliable lines of Plastic Folding Tables and Chairs for more than five years and each year we've seen increased sales. Much like with our Plastic Folding Tables, we also get asked daily about the cost of our Plastic Folding Chairs. And like with our plastic folding tables, there is the easy answer (pricelist) and the more complicated answer (why the big difference).

Traditional Samsonite plastic folding chairs typically cost between $8.95 and $19.99 each. Unlike plastic folding tables however, plastic folding chairs with a subpar weight rating can be dangerous for anyone looking to use them. So while some consumers can likely survive with a plastic folding table that has a subpar weight rating, the same is not true for plastic folding chairs. The three key factors in the strength of a plastic folding chair is the use of recycled plastic in the construction of the chair, the limited value of a static rating, and the importance of drop test results.

Many consumer focused companies are proud to say that their plastic folding chairs have a certain percentage of recycled material in the hopes of gaining a green reputation. Many others will hide the fact that their chairs have recycled content because they are worried commercial buyers will avoid their products like the plague. In the case of plastic folding chairs it is extremely important to avoid recycled content. If the manufacturer uses recycled plastic to produce their plastic folding chairs, the chairs will be brittle which means they will crack and break quickly. New virgin plastic on the other hand allows the chair to flex further without breaking and results in a folding chair that is very strong, more durable and not brittle. So why do some manufacturers use recycled plastic then? It all comes down to cost. It is much less expensive to produce a chair using recycled plastic than it is using new plastic.

Static weight ratings are in many cases something else to watch out for. Many companies will have spectacular static weight ratings that frankly fall short in reality. You want to look for a weight rating that is in the 300-350lb range. If they claim higher you should consider asking more questions about the product, especially if the price seems too good to be true (as the saying goes, it normally is to good to be true).

Drop test results are something that is very important to consider when buying plastic folding chairs. The BIFMA standard is 225lbs from 6" above the seat. In the case of the NES Reliable Plastic Folding Chairs, this is the exact test that has been done, and the chair will not fail. Some manufacturers have even stepped up with chairs rated for a 275lb test from 6" above the chair. This is no doubt a very impressive feat for a plastic folding chair however those chairs also come at a premium price.

All of these factors are important to consider when purchasing a plastic folding chair for your church, facility or for your business to rent. If you buy a plastic folding chair that meets all of these requirements, that is:

• Contains only virgin plastic
• Has a static weight rating of 300-350lbs
• Has passed the BIFMA 225lbs drop test

Not only will you be purchasing a more durable plastic folding chair that will last longer, but there is less chance they will fail when someone sits on them.
