Looking to Gain Web Traffic as an Event Rental Company?

Decorated TableRental Management Magazine recently featured an article about Party Reflections based in Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham, NC. They used their creativity to not only help employee morale by fostering a friendly in-house tabletop contest, but also help refresh their showroom and gain web traffic. Originally, Party Reflections let outside clients judge the anonymous tables based on creativity, use of budget, and function. This year, they expanded the judging pool and created a way for this contest to generate more web traffic. Douglas Crowe, CERP, Party Reflections director of sales states:

“In a day and age where the most face-time you get with certain clients is on their Facebook page, the tabletop competition has given us a unique opportunity to draw clients into our store and reiterate the strength of the organization’s staff members and products.”

With today’s market becoming a buyer’s market, event rental companies must think outside the box to attract attention and generate demand. In fact, according to Brian Carroll, CEO of InTouch, up to 95% of qualified prospects on your website are there to research and are not yet ready to talk with a sales rep, but as many as 70% of them will eventually buy a product from you – or your competitors.

So how did Party Reflections go about getting the attention of their website visitors utilizing this in-house contest? Photos of the contest were posted online and those who receive the company e-newsletter were invited to vote for their favourite via an online poll. It seems to be working for them also – with over 341 votes online and an uptick in website traffic. Another great way to promote the contest would be through social media like Facebook, Google+, Twitter, or Pinterest. Asking people for their opinions is a great way to start a conversation.

This contest has major business benefits associated with it including increased employee morale, the ability to showcase new and notable products like folding cocktail tables, chivari chairs, or wing bowls, both in your showroom and on your website to better entice new and existing clientele, foster participation and retention of existing clientele, as well as creating an uptick in website traffic. Who doesn’t like those benefits?!

Do you have an offline contest like this you could bring online? If not, why not consider creating a contest similar to Party Reflections?

To get started on a contest of your own, you’ll need some solid and reliable tables such as the 6-ft NES Reliable Rectangular Plastic Folding Table with Adjustable Table Legs. These tables would allow your employees to think outside of the box with their ability to adjust from regular table height to a bar table height. You might be pleasantly surprised with the designs they come up with. If you would like additional information about the table, or if you would like to receive a quote on any of our other products, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Alberta Foodservice Expo 2012The National Event Supply Tradeshow Team is getting ready for a trip out west to the beautiful City of Edmonton for the 2012 Alberta Foodservice Expo. We were at last year's Expo in Calgary, and knew that we couldn't miss this year's show. The 2012 Alberta Foodservice Expo is being held at the Edmonton Expo Centre on September 9 & 10. National Event Supply will be in booth 434 and would love to see you!

Five reasons to stop by our booth!

We also just received our Eclisse line of glassware this week, and the Alberta Foodservice Expo will be the first trade show where we'll have it available for viewing and for order. We know that if you take a look at our Crystal and Glassware, you'll love the design and the price.

We'll also have our new porcelain bowls in our booth

We showed these bowls off in a previous blog entry, but there is nothing like seeing them in person. Available in three different sizes, we have slanted bowls and wing bowls that can add a flair to your table. In addition to our new porcelain bowls, we'll have a wide selection of our porcelain dinnerware, platters, and bowls for you to examine and get a feel for.

Now Opening Our 3rd Warehouse Location- Vancouver, BC

We opened our warehouse in Indianapolis last year in the early spring and with the Douglass group helping our sales efforts from their Indianapolis head office, we have slowly been building our success in the US Midwest market. While the Douglass group have direct sales staff covering Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky and West Virginia, we often ship to many other nearby states.

Now, less than 18 months later, we are growing our Canada/US presence once again. We have been thinking about this for quite a while now and had considered starting earlier this year but were concerned with everything that was happening in Europe. Now 6 months later, not much has changed in Europe (the economy is still as shaky as before) but we have decided it was time to bite the bullet and start warehousing some of our best-selling NES Reliable Plastic Folding Tables, plastic folding chairs and NES Wood Folding Tables in Vancouver.

We regularly get calls from across western Canada and in particular, BC and Alberta. While we get great shipping rates and ship coast to coast across Canada as well as into the far north (and of course throughout the US), shipping from Toronto usually takes a week and many of our western Canada Customers often need the product today or tomorrow. We provide same day and next day service throughout the Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal corridor and have felt this type of responsiveness was also needed for Vancouver and lower mainland area. Shipping to Calgary and Edmonton will be just 2 days (versus the 3 to 5 days it takes from Toronto).

What products will NES be warehousing in Vancouver?

We are starting off with a range of our best-selling NES Reliable Plastic folding tables and folding chairs as well as our most popular NES Wood folding tables. Over time we hope to expand the range to offer most of what we have available in Toronto as far as tables and chairs are concerned and later in 2013 we would like start stocking our popular Quadrato, Ovali and Hotelier dinnerware lines, our porcelain platters and bowls and some of our best-selling cutlery lines.

Our first shipments are arriving into the Locher Evers warehouse with the following expected schedule:

August 3rd

  • 6ft and 8ft NES Reliable Rectangular Plastic Folding Tables
  • 60 inch NES Reliable Round Plastic Folding Tables
  • Tall NES Reliable Round Plastic Folding Cocktail Table

August 8th

  • NES Wood Folding Tables, 4ft, 6ft and 8ft folding Banquet tables
  • NES Wood Folding Tables, 48 inch, 60 inch and 72 inch round folding tables

August 9th

  • NES Reliable White Wedding-Style Resin Folding Chairs (and Black)
  • NES Folding Chair Carts

August 10th

  • NES Reliable Series 3000 Plastic Folding Chairs in Black on Black, White on White, Grey on Grey, and Burgundy on Grey (additional colours will come later in the fall)
  • 72 inch NES Reliable Round Blow Mold Folding Tables

Since we’re doing business with some very large companies in the movement of our products, these arrival date may slip a little. If there is something you are interested in picking up right away, give us a call and we can give you the latest information on when it is expected to arrive into the warehouse.

Where is the warehouse located?

We are warehousing our product with our strategic partner Locher Evers International and their sister company Westcon Terminals. The warehouse is conveniently located in the Annacis Business Park at the following address. This is located at the Alex Fraser Bridge and highway #91 with quick and easy on and off access.

456 Humber Place,
Annacis Business Park
New Westminster, BC
V3M 6A5

How do you order from the New Vancouver Warehouse?

The same as you always do, you can send us an email, call us at 905-795-1667 or toll free at 800-827-8953, or fill out one of our contact forms on our website and we would be pleased to help you. We already have well established relationships with national carriers for shipping and we’ll be able to provide you with even more cost effective shipping options now that we can ship from Vancouver to BC, Alberta and Washington State. For Saskatchewan and Manitoba, we’ll figure out which shipping options (Vancouver or Toronto) are the most cost effective.

Can I pick-up at the Warehouse?

Absolutely, we just need 24 hours notice so we can have the warehouse pull your order and get it ready for pick-up the next day in the afternoon. For larger orders, we’ll need to know the type of vehicle you’re picking up with so we can either have the skid of tables/chairs shrink wrapped or ready for hand loading. Rush pick-ups can also be accommodated but hopefully your customers aren’t always leaving changes to the last minute.

If there are any other questions you have, give us a call or send us an email and we would be pleased to answer your query.

How much weight can White Resin Folding Chairs hold?
White Resin Folding Chair

The classic event chair. This popular style of chair has been done in wood and in resin. It's classic style graces weddings and other events, both indoors, and out. We've been selling our NES Reliable White Resin Folding Chairs (also know as white wedding folding chairs) for 7 years now, and we frequently get asked how strong our chairs are, and what differentiates them from other chairs on the market. So a couple of weeks ago, we went into the warehouse to show why our NES Reliable White Resin Folding Chairs are such a great investment.

Over the years we have been selling our White Resin Chair we have usually noted that our factory has performed the standard Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) set of tests which consists of dropping 225lbs from 6 inches above the chair and the chair does not fail. In addition, we have also commented that the chair will hold a static weight in excess of 400lbs (also as tested by our factory). We have confidently stated that we believed the chair could support the static weight of a person much heavier than 400lbs.

While this information is great to hear, what does it really look like? Is the chair heavily stressed with 400lbs? Will it collapse and break if you exceed 400lbs? To find out, we decided to do our own informal tests and have included some pictures so you can see the results.

We loaded up one of our NES Reliable White Resin Folding Chairs with 12 cases of our Maria 18/10 Table Knives. If you`ve ever handled cases of cutlery you`ll know these can be pretty heavy. Each case of our Maria Table Knives contains 15 dozen knives and weigh a little more than 40lbs each. We weighed each of the cases and the weights ranged from a low of 40.25lbs to a high of 41.25lbs for a total weight 483.4lbs. We left the 12 cases of Maria Table Knives on the chair seat for about 15 minutes in total. It is interesting to note that the only stress noises we heard and saw came from the cardboard boxes holding the cutlery and not our chair. As you can see from the pictures we had to tape the boxes together to make sure that they would stay on the chair and not fall over.

Before performing this informal test, we felt positive that our chair would not just survive the test, but would fare no ill effects from the weight that was piled on. After performing this informal test, we feel we can confidently say that our NES Reliable White Resin Folding chairs will hold people who weigh up to 500lbs.

NES Reliable Resin Folding Chairs are available in black and white and come with a 2 year material and manufacturing defect warranty. If you would like additional information about the NES Reliable White or Black Resin Folding Chair, or to receive a quote, please let contact us!

The Rental Show 2012: Great Times in the Big Easy

Rental Show LogoWell we finally have a chance to come up for air after a very successful 2012 Rental Show in New Orleans, Louisiana.

We arrived in ‘The Big Easy’ on Saturday afternoon (February 4th) just in time to catch the first parade of the Mardi Gras season. While the parade started around 6:30pm we didn’t actually see it in the French Quarter until around 9:00pm which gives you an idea of how long the route and the parade was. The parades build through the month of February culminating in the biggest bash which takes place on February 21st. On this day there are 6 parades throughout the day and more than 1.5 million visitors flock to the city so they can enjoy the Mardi Gras fun.

National Event Supply was proud to be a Silver level sponsor for the 2012 Rental Show. We strongly believe that investing in a stronger rental community will pay dividends for all involved. It's also a great opportunity to talk with current and potential customers to get a feel for what products they are looking for and what opportunities exist for new products that they didn't know they had a need for.

On Sunday morning attended the breakfast at the Events & Tents session where we were thanked for being a co-sponsor for the Breakfast Seminar session. Breakfast was followed by a great presentation by the father and son team of Richard and Jordan Carbotti of Perfect Surroundings from Middletown, Rhode Island. They talked about where they find their inspiration for creating fabulous events as well as showed pictures of some of their more extravagant and unique events. The balance of the Events & Tents day was filled with lots of valuable informative seminars and great networking opportunities to help run your party and tent business.

For the National Event Supply trade show team, the remainder of Sunday was spent setting up our booth to display our wide range of product offerings in the best fashion possible. We had a great booth location across from Losberger Tents, one of the world’s leading tent manufacturers, beside All Seasons Tent another leading Mid-west based Tent supplier and right by the exhibition hall food court. With more than 50+ tent suppliers at this year’s Rental Show, having our 21ft National Event Supply Sky Flag was a must. It is a great way to stand out in the crowd.

With our greatly expanded booth, rental stores from across the US Midwest and Canada flocked to our booth on Monday and Tuesday. So many so that we couldn’t get to everyone that came by. Early on Monday we met with Leslie of Word of Mouth Catering out of Austin, Texas. Leslie was excited to see our new introduction of highly durable melamine platters and bowls that look so great you can`t tell they aren`t porcelain until you actually touch them. On Monday evening we attended the ARA Region 10 reception where we were thanked for being a co-sponsor of the evening reception.

On Tuesday we met with Mahala from Celebration Party Rental of Jacksonville, Florida who was interested in our lines of NES Reliable Plastic Folding Tables and plastic folding chairs. She was pleased to hear we offer a 2 year material and manufacturing defect warranty and that we have been selling our NES Reliable line of quality products for 5 years now. Our Rental Customers have been telling us how well they perform in their heavy use environment.

Over the 3 days of The Rental Show we met with customers from California to Sydney, NS and all points in between. We also had the pleasure of meeting a few customers from the Caribbean (Bahamas and Barbados) and Honduras. After having such a great show in New Orleans, we can’t help but be excited to get back to The Rental Show in Las Vegas in 2013!
